Relaxing New Years Eve

Ryan Seacrest, left, and Dick Clark host "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2011" on ABC at 10.

Some family and friends dropped by the home front and we played games and watched the NYE celebration on TV. Was disappointed that local ABC station elected to delay the "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2011" until after the WFAA "Big D NYE".  Music was so-so but fireworks and background piece at midnight was fabulous.  Surfed through celebrations and stumble upon MTV show with "Jersey Shore" cast and almost put a gun to my head.  When will this group of wasted lives fifteen minutes of fame be over?  They had "Snooki" that's the short dumpy dumb one get in a simulated ball for the midnight drop.

Perhaps the just should of dropped her without being in the ball.  Also caught some of the Vegas celebration and it was 29 degrees (brrr cold for Vegas).  New York post blizzard temperature was only 40 degrees. Carson Daly's NYE celebration show was pretty good with some good music.  What I call the real celebration at Times Square finally aired at 1:00 AM CST with Dick Clark. Dick made some short appearances but mostly it was Ryan Seacrest and Jenny McCarthy. Music was good except when "New Kids on the Block"  (who are actually grown adults) and "Backstreet Boys (more grown adults) performed together.  Guess their teen earnings did not last so long.  Finally shut it down at 3:30 AM and all was well. Hope 2011 is healthy and well for all!

I feel like an idiot, but I completely forgot to put on the New Year's specials. They usually end up with horrible singing artists and a lot of chatter that's annoying. Watched Ghost Adventures anyways and got my laughs in for the evening. Hope your 2011 is ridiculously awesome!
