Taken Too Soon

Our nation mourns the tragic loss of twenty innocent souls and brave school staff who gave their lifes trying to protect them. My heart goes out to the family and friends of these victims taken too soon. God Bless! Saturday Night Live show had a fitting tribute to open their show last night that was very touching.

How Did We Get to This Stage of Violence?

Cannot believe what the world is coming too

"Michael Stolz apparently became upset when one of the dogs defecated inside the home. Stolz said he shot the dog and when his wife became upset and screamed, he shot her as well," Deaver said.

Teachers and Students

Okay I admit that I had a couple of crushes on some hot teachers but nothing ever came of it back in the seventies.  Todays world is something else though and one cannot read the news without coming across a student and teacher relationship.  Are they all true? Maybe or maybe not but most have been caught redhanded.  After reading about another accusation close to home I was curious and did a Google search regading this topic.  I almost fell out of my chair when the results popped up for a large number that were very recent events.  The question I have is the cause of this high number of relationships and are they just now getting reported or seen due to the internet.  Is it due to the teens growing up today looking to the teacher for more than classroom learning?  Is it the teacher becoming easily attracted to a 15-17 year old that looks more like a 24 year old in appearance?  Whatever the cause its becoming a very frightening educational system for both parties.

Side Note: Ran across the movie "Fatal Attraction" on local TV the other night.  Damn that movie scares me!

Next day read that a local 44 year old Dr. went to Iowa and confronted 22 year old ex girlfriend and her new boyfriend.  He shot and killed her and after shooting boyfriend he killed himself.  Leaves behind a wife and kids and griefing family and friends of girl he killed.

Technology Upgrades at Lightning Speed

Apple iPad Comparison
Ckick here

How mad do you get when you research something and finally pull the trigger to purchase a laptop, TV, cell phone, iPad or any other electronic device only to find out months later its old school. That must be the case with iPad users after Apples announcement this week, Always thought tech items should have a 30-60 day clause that allow you to upgrade at minimal cost if new item came out within XX days of purchase.   I went to a Droid phone last November after waiting and waiting for on the new iPhone 5.  My Apple 3GS was a great phone and my first Apple cell,  a Blackberry and Nokia user previously.   Thankfully I did not bite on the 4s that's a 4G with some improvements but not the promised iPhone 5.  The point being technology is moving so fast that one must by the best product for the budget you have at time of need.  When better, faster, and sometimes at less cost arrive just cover your ears and eyes and make do and squeeze a smile or nod when people saying “Oh that is so yesterday technology”.

Tough Week for Vet Bills

Started last week with my dear horse limping on right leg.  After vet checked him out and wrapped hoof for a couple days it went to X-rays.  Thankfully nothing broken or damaged for this 17 year old thoroughbred.  Turned out to be an abscess that rose up a few days later.  Glad he's back to his old self as king of the pack.

Late last week one of our three cats had some digestive issues and spending too much time in litter box. Dropped her off today for checkout that turned in to over night stay or in patient terms $$$$. Thye had to keep her to get a stool and urnie sample after being there all day trying to obtain.  Heck at home seems like they go every hour.

Lesson learned: Think I need animal health insurance since they cost more than human office visits.  Are animals included in Obama Healthcare Plan?

Life's so Precious

From a friend and thought I would share.

A worried woman went to her gynecologist and said:

'Doctor, I have a serious problem and desperately need your help! My baby is not even 1 year old and I'm pregnant again. I don't want kids so close together.'

So the doctor said: 'Ok and what do you want me to do?'
She said: 'I want you to end my pregnancy, and I'm counting on your help with this.'

The doctor thought for a little, and after some silence he said to the lady: 'I think I have a better solution for your problem. It's less dangerous for you too.'

She smiled, thinking that the doctor was going to accept her request.

Then he continued: 'You see, in order for you not to have to take care of 2 babies at the same time, let's kill the one in your arms. This way, you could rest some before the other one is born. If we're going to kill one of them, it doesn't matter which one it is. There would be no risk for your body if you chose the one in your arms.'

The lady was horrified and said: 'No doctor! How terrible! It's a crime to kill a child!'

'I agree', the doctor replied. 'But you seemed to be OK with it, so I thought maybe that was the best solution.'

The doctor smiled, realizing that he had made his point.

He convinced the mom that there is no difference in killing a child that's already been born and one that's still in the womb. The crime is the same!

Kennedy Unveiled ...Again

Good interview last night with Meridith Viera on "Rock Center" that adds yet another Chapter to the double life of President John F. Kennedy. By now I think everyone on earth realizes and admits he was a womanizer so does this interview really shock anyone.  It does show that he still brings attention even though he's been gone for almost 50 years.  His short life touched many and gave hope to a nation. Does this interview change your views of our 35th President?

Point Taken

Local News showed these five protesting DISD school closures. I agree that their schools need to stay open based on the ring leaders spelling of "Justice" on her sign. Perhaps someone should return to school for spelling lessons.
